Kristen Mangione

Kristen Mangione is the founder of the ZenMoves technique that brings Eastern philosophy to movement.

Mentored by Ohashi, renowned teacher and founder of the Ohashiastu® Bodywork Method, she taught for several years at the internationally recognized Ohashi Institute in New York City.  Her teaching included Eastern philosophy, Chinese medicine, and movement mechanics in bodywork.  She has had a private practice for the last 10 years, working with over 1,000 clients in bodywork therapy and Chinese Medicine.  She is the founder and director of ZenTouch, located in Hoboken, NJ.  It is home to the ZenMoves curriculum, as well as her private Ohashiatsu practice, yoga, meditation and dance instruction.

Kristen has 20 years of professional dance experience with modern dance companies including Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Zendora Dance Company, and Chris Ferris and Dancers.  She has also directed her own company, KM&Co, with performances in New York City, New Jersey, New England, Chicago and London.  She has worked in arts administration and production for arts organizations including American Ballet Theatre and The Juilliard School.  She received a BA in Dance from Smith College and a Professional Degree in Dance Studies from the Laban Centre, London, UK.  She has extensive studies in somatic/body awareness techniques including the Feldenkrais Method, Zena Rommett Floor-Barre® and Klein Technique.

Additionally, she has trained in authentic Zen practice at Dai Bosatsu Zendo, a Rinzai Zen Buddhist monastery located in the Catskill Mountains.
